Fright Night!~

13 Sep

Anyone… like vampires?

Well, here’s one for you. BUT, it’s not your usual oh-so-romantic friendly vampires that you are familiar with!

Introducing…

Fright Night!!!~

Synopsis of the movie:

Senior Charlie Brewster (Anton Yelchin) finally has it all—he’s running with the popular crowd and dating the hottest girl in high school. In fact, he’s so cool he’s even dissing his best friend Ed (Christopher Mintz-Plasse).

But trouble arrives when an intriguing stranger Jerry (Colin Farrell) moves in next door. He seems like a great guy at first, but there’s something not quite right—and everyone, including Charlie’s mom (Toni Collette), doesn’t notice.

After witnessing some very unusual activity, Charlie comes to an unmistakable conclusion: Jerry is a vampire preying on his neighborhood. Unable to convince anyone that he’s telling the truth, Charlie has to find a way to get rid of the monster himself in this Craig Gillespie-helmed revamp of the comedy horror classic.

My curry day

21 Aug

This is the curry that I ate just now, curry with tau pok, FYI, laksa is a form of Curry, hahaahahahaah! Apparently, today, most people around me are busy, nobody wana eat with me, so this is my alone curry meal 😛

Cook & share a pot of CURRY!

20 Aug

Well… Decided to blog about this, because tomorrow is the day to “Cook & Share a pot of CURRY” 🙂

Why decided to do so ? Because I felt that there is a need to create awareness to our Singapore culture.

I believe lots of Singaporeans had eaten a Roti Prata before?

What is prata without curry? No matter what race you’re, I believe this special delicacy makes your mouth watering, just like how my Singapore grown Indonesian friend who migrated to USA, always missed the roti prata and curry, which you can’t get it elsewhere ^_^

What about the Famous 933 Golden pillow curry chicken?Oh my!

If you think curry is only for Indians, look again ? Even Japanese have their curries on rice ! And its super delicious ^_^

See? Even the Chinese have their own curry mix ^^

The highlight of the curries!

Even Breadtalk have their OWN curry Naan !!!!!! Isn’t that amazing? And its damn nice as well ^_^

In our Singapore’s multi-cultural society, we embrace different culture with open arms.

From the lunar 7th month’s “Ge Tai” , with all the noisy concert at night, bombing the HDBs with all the noise, even I , as Chinese, I don’t like it, but our other ethnic group’s friends, embraced it.

Why can’t the new citizens and immigrants/ foreign talents embrace our culture?

Curry IS part of our Singapore culture 🙂

So now! I’m gonna ask everyone who reads my blog to support this event of “Cook and Share A Pot Of Curry”.

The event is on 21st August 2011.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! ^_^

Plus Size Ladies for Magazine Shoot

4 Aug

Before I jump into the main point, I need to explain.

I’m into a women’s empowering group, named “Poppers”.

This group was founded by Big Is Gorgeous with the aim to empower women’s lives.

Under Big Is Gorgeous, there are programs for helping single mothers, teaching them skills for them to earn a living.

As for the “Poppers”, we are actually trained in dancing, makeup, personal grooming etc. In all, it is an overall empowerment program for ladies of all walks to feel good about themselves.

Through Poppers, I performed during Chingay 2011

Did a video shoot at Cosmoprof Academy with the Poppers

The Poppers performing at Yio Chu Kang Community Center

Big Is Gorgeous empowered me to showcase myself in public

Artsy

3 Aug

I did a cake for Erica’s 31st birthday, it was a crazy encounter for me and Florence, aka Leng Leng.

But shall elaborate that next time.

Went with Ani to decorate the cake.

It wasn’t the first time I did that. The first was for Anson Bitch. HAHAHAHAHA

I still remembered the first time I did it, I “swear” never to do it again.

But again and again, I did it. Felt that nothing  beats the heart and effort to decorate the cake. Although it wasn’t something I baked.

But I realised, I just don’t have the potential to become some artsy people. I used to fail art in my secondary school. So…

                                  Tadah!!!! My creation!

Mrs Singapore 2011

1 Aug

Woah!

Time flies, went for Mrs Singapore 2o11 recently.

One year had passed since the previous one, which was the first pageant that I’ve atended. But… With a slight difference.

Last year, I went as an audience, as an ongoing pageant contestant for Miss/Ms Amazing 2010.

This year, I went as a title holder, for gracing the event.

The event was a success. I felt the presence of the ladies, who are mothers and even grandmothers.

One of the quote from Ms Irene Lau, International Woman Of Excellence. “Woman at this age is not just a housewife, they can be somebody who stands out, showcase her talent and exudes elegance.”

Indeed, woman of this age, is no longer just the simple woman out there, men don’t take over the world, have all the say, woman can take charge of their life too.

This post is some sort of reflection for me, throughout the pageant journey. I became more sociable. Sometimes, to most people, I’m very talkative, I smile, I laugh out loud. Literally like LOL type. Those MUAHAHAHAhAHAHAHAHA!

Sometimes I blabber non stop. I may look ignorant, in fact, majority thought I’m “young & ignorant”. I chose to do that. In a complicated society, most people can’t keep their childlike character anymore.

People who know me, in school, in work, would realized that I don’t talk during working hours.

Working alone, whenever possible, quietly doing my work. That’s me.

But in this pageant, I learnt to talk to more people, socialize, I smile more, genuinely smiling, laughing to my heart’s content.

That’s something I learn only after I joined the pageant, which gave me lots of exposure too.

With Jeffrey Chung from Jeffrey Chung Models & Esther Goh(in red) who owns Sweet Beauty Secrets, she’s also the ambassador for her own brand, which sells skincare and makeup.  As the saying goes, you use what you sell. This is the end results for using her products, would say.. To be quite satisfied ^_^
